How we started..
I knew it would be a special occasion when my longtime friends decided to get married.
After a joyful surprise proposal with extended family and friends… planning mode turned on. We had a bachelorette weekend and bridal shower to plan.
Plot twist.
Our first planning call ended with the decision for me to officiate. Yes, I hosted my friends baby shower years earlier but this was different. This level of responsibility for such a major day felt wildly unreal but what a honor.
Naturally… we moved forward.
After getting certified and preparing for everything else in between, my friends decided to get married where they first laid eyes on each other. At a yacht club.
She was a server and he was a cook turned chef.
Who knew the late teens/early 20-somethings had found their life companion in a peer.. a coworker.. a friend. Fifteen + years and life happenings later here we are.
Our bride wanted an intimate small ceremony with immediate family and a few close friends. But… you already know hours leading up to the big moment were full of adventure.
From running around trying to grab last-minute looks for our bride to a visit to City Hall to make sure we crossed our t’s and dotted our i’s to the mother of our bride car getting a flat tire (two hours before the ceremony Ahhh).
Everything ended up coming together beautifully… we drank, took pictures, danced, laughed and vibe’d the night away.
Kicking off another slice of my life as a wedding officiate.
